NEW RURAL HOUSE - MODERN YET TRADITIONAL

Simple forms were required for this extremely sensitive site in the Wicklow mountains. The arrangement of the two forms (with entrance between) captures a garden to the south west, filled with sunlight throughout the evenings.

The living block with open plan kitchen, dining, snug, and living area has high ceilings, and west facing sliding doors to the terrace, meaning that it is full of brightness – the living area can be separated with a large sliding door. The narrow plan means daylighting and natural ventilation is easy.

The bedroom block is more cellular, and incorporates also the servicing aspects of the house – utility, heat recovery system, air to water internal unit, etc. The master bedroom has access to it’s own private terrace to the south, cut out from the hill.
